Abstract

The present work seeks to interpret the relationships involving issues concerning the meaning of the concept of imperialism in studies of Geopolitics, understanding whether the concept of imperialism as a category of analysis is valid for the time present, seeking new formulations of the concept of imperialism. The goal intended is to elaborate a critical reading, traced in the work of V. I Lenin, identifying the expressive space-time differences with the present time and evaluating the applicability of this concept as an analytical category of/in the contemporary world. To contribute to the development of increasingly complex thinking, it is difficult to analyze in a superficial reading, I seek through academic research the concept capable of meeting some realities of the world, marked by the economy, where big capitalist powers and big corporations try to expand every day more its territorial influences across the planet, exploiting labor increasing its productivity and its capital/investment and the (re)configuration of his empire, reigning all over the world. Thus, the importance of study with critical rigor to contribute to science and execute this research project search.
