Ensino de geografia a partir da análise do papel do professor mediador

Abstract

This research sought to analyze the current context of school education, in particular, the teaching of Geography.Through readings made with various texts referring to the exposed theme, an attempt was made to through the analyzed theories, discuss the current moment of teaching-learning. A analysis was made through the readings of authors such as: Castrogiovanni, Callai, Cavalcanti between others, where they report in their works some changes in the teaching of Geography (about the digital world and globalization for example) where there were some divergences (little) more there was. For some it brought significant improvements, for others, not so much. As for the methodology it was an exploratory, with field research, and of a qualitative nature with observations made in the classroom with teacher and students, interviews directed to both at the Manuel Caiado State College of Application and topics such as: Teaching of Geography in the current context; the role of the mediating teacher; teaching geography: why teaching Geography in elementary school; teaching methodologies in teaching Geography; The teacher mediation; socio-constructivist methodologies in Geography teaching. Therefore, was able to perceive through the analyzed readings and with observations made, that even with such changes are still necessary some measures to have a quality education.
