PROCESSAMENTO DE ARGILA NO MUNICIPIO DE SÃO MIGUEL DO PASSA QUATRO (GO)

Abstract

This work discusses the removal of clay from the soil and the environmental impacts caused by this activity. To understand this process, a case study was carried out in São Miguel of Passa Quatro. The activities of the potteries in the Municipality of São Miguel do Passa Quatro, located in the Pires do Rio microregion of the State of Goiás, have been developed and are not knows the socio-environmental repercussions. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to make some notes of these impacts from the clay extraction activity. For this purpose, a study of pottery activity, through the selection of exploration areas and the extraction of clays. It is currently known that the choice of clay extraction areas is carried out empirically. On the other hand, the urban expansion of surrounding cities has caused an increase in brick production, which in turn has led to the exploration of new areas for the extraction of clay. The set of concerns regarding the environmental impacts generated by brickworks and lack of studies on the subject in the region motivated the carrying out of this work, which has The objective is to identify and analyze the main impacts caused by the activities of main potteries in the municipality of São Miguel do Passa Quatro. With regard to the impacts environmental impacts, an analysis will be made regarding the pedological (soil), hydrological (water) and of vegetation. To achieve this, fieldwork is necessary to identify how the removal of the clay, the impacts caused to the soil and, if there is a technique for recovery and use of the soil after removal. Environmental Legislation was sought, which are the laws that regulates this activity. But from a geography point of view, it has major impacts negative for it.
