A presença do feminismo negro na obra “A flor do deserto” de Waris Dirie

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to verify how the work “A flor do Deserto” approaches black feminism, emphasizing the submission of women within the family, in society and how the social representation of their body occurs, through the character Waris Dirie. This research is qualitative bibliographic for its execution resorted to the reading of articles, monographs and diverse works which contemplated this theme. The following authors were used as theoretical apparatus: Engels (1985), DEL Priore (1993). Swan (2015), Saffioti (2015; Oliveira and Cassab (2014) among others. At the end of this research, it can be seen that the analyzed work raises discussions about the black woman and her relationship with the patriarchy and the internal conflicts in relation to her own body, and this is crucial for us to understand the relevance that she has in full century, with regard to the empowerment of black women in society.
