Abstract

The present research aims to understand the search for pleasure on social networks through the neuropsychological functioning of the dopaminergic circuit, and its influence on psychological illness. In the current context, social networks have become an integral part of the daily lives of many individuals, which can result in excessive use behavior in search of immediate pleasure. To understand this phenomenon, it is essential to investigate how the dopaminergic circuit, responsible for the sensation of reward and pleasure in the brain, is activated during interaction with social networks. This study explores the neurophysiological mechanisms that support this activation, as well as the neuropsychological effects resulting from the continued use of these platforms. The research aims to answer the question: "How is the search for pleasure on social networks related to the functioning of the dopaminergic circuit from a neuropsychological point of view?" Through a systematic review of the literature and critical analysis of existing studies, this work will investigate the correlations between the use of social networks, the activation of the dopaminergic circuit and symptoms associated with psychological illness, such as anxiety, depression and digital diction. Furthermore, possible psychological interventions that can mitigate these adverse effects will be discussed, promoting healthier use of these technologies. In this research, the focus will be on the addictive pleasure of psychic experiences resulting from the excessive use of social networks, and their neuropsychological impacts. At the end of this investigation, we hope to provide insights into the relationship between digital technology and mental health, promoting practices that can improve users' mental health in the contemporary context.
