De Grimm a Disney: uma análise comparativa entre as diferentes versões dos contos da Cinderela

Abstract

The research presents a comparative analysis between the original version of the fairy tale Cinderella, written by the Brothers Grimm in 1812, and its contemporary adaptation from 2015. In addition, I will also do a brief analysis of the Cinderella film produced by Amazon in 2021. The study aims to understand the changes and continuities in the values and themes addressed over time. The article discusses how the original Cinderella tale featured a passive protagonist, reflecting the social values and expectations of the time for women, such as marriage and passivity. In the 2015 contemporary version, a more self-determined and positive Cinderella is observed, along with a more complex representation of the stepmother and sisters, demonstrating the roots of their actions in unresolved experiences and feelings. The importance of fairy tale adaptations in popular culture is concluded, reflecting social and cultural changes, as the contemporary version criticizes the behaviors and values expected of the female gender, emphasizing Ella's individuality and challenging the notion that marriage is the only source of happiness or value for a woman
