O Direito À Alimentação E A Segurança Alimentar No Município De Morrinhos: Análise do Projeto Horta Comunitária

Abstract

Brazil is one of the biggest food producers on the planet and yet people still go hungry. Therefore, in this work, the role of the Community Garden Project and its contribution to promoting food security for vulnerable people in Morrinhos is analyzed. Specifically, we seek to study food insecurity and the right to food in the world, in Brazil, in Goiás and in Morrinhos – GO; know the most important public policies for income distribution in Brazil, Goiás and the Municipality of Morrinhos; and evaluate the contribution of the Morrinhense Horta Comunitária project, in promoting food security and in guaranteeing the vulnerable population of the municipality the right to food. The methodology, guided by the inductive method, involves bibliographic research and field research, through interviews and questionnaires. Thus, it is expected to answer the following question: is the Community Garden project an important project to promote food security for the vulnerable population of Morrinhense? It is concluded that the Community Garden Project, by associating public and local initiatives, promotes an arrangement for the local promotion of food security.
