Abstract

This study aims to analyze and discuss the legal repercussions concerning the practice of home artificial insemination. Initially, it presents multiparenthood as the possibility for a child to have more than one mother or father and multiple biological bonds, highlighting how the factor of affection is developing new aspects within family law. The premises of this work are based on jurisprudence, scientific articles, and the resolutions of the Federal Council of Medicine, with the objective of evaluating whether the practice of self-home insemination is possible within the legal framework and its effects. Furthermore, it examines the paths to be taken so that a child resulting from the aforementioned method can be registered and have their rights recognized. Finally, it examines the issues between the parties involved and the material donor, questioning the possibility of the donor being sued for paternity recognition and the legal consequences that ensue.
