Análise dos reflexos da pandemia de COVID-19 no mapa de empresas brasileiras : um estudo de caso no município de Caldas Novas - Goiás (2017-2022)

Abstract

The present study aims to highlight the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the number of companies opened and closed in the municipality of Caldas Novas-Goiás, in the post-pandemic years from 2020 to 2022, in comparison with the pre-pandemic periods from 2017 to 2019. The methodology is classified as descriptive and exploratory, with bibliographic, documentary, ex-post-fact data sources and a case study. The instrument of collection was the ‘Company Map Panel’ from a quantitative perspective, and the processing of data according to Descriptive statistics. The results indicate that in relation to the Legal Nature, there was a reduction in the number of openings of EIRELI’s, growth in the closing of LTDA’s, increase in the number of openings and reduction in the closure of Individual Entrepreneurs. As for Size, growth in the number of MEI’s with a reduction in the number of closings, as well as an increase in the number of openings and closings of Microenterprises. In total, in the prepandemic period, +5,992 companies were opened, in contrast to the total of +7,774 after the pandemic, which corresponds to a quantitative difference of +1,782 new businesses. In case of company closures we have a total of -3,197 companies before the pandemic and -3,068 in the post-pandemic years, signaling a total reduction in the closure of just -129 companies. Therefore, the results indicate that even with the pandemic, the city did not stop obtaining new ventures, there was no significant increase in the number of closed companies and not a decrease in the number of openings new businesses in the post-pandemic years.
