Relações étnico raciais na educação infantil e fundamental na Escola Municipal Vilanir: o magistério e o enfrentamento do racismo e discriminação na escola

Abstract

This work presents the results of a survey carried out with teachers at Escola Municipal Vilanir de Alencar Camapum in the city of Uruaçu-GO. The teachers interviewed work in Early Childhood Education and the first phase of Elementary Education. The objective of this work was to understand what teachers think in relation to Law 10,639/03 and how they deal with ethnic-racial issues in everyday school life. The research was carried out through a dialogued, voluntary and anonymous questionnaire. Data analysis was based on Cavalleiro (2009), Munanga (2005), among others. As a result, teachers at this institution have very superficial knowledge of teachers regarding this topic, pointing to the need to invest in teacher training to implement teaching that aims at social equality.
