Estudo histórico sobre a cadeia pública de Vila Boa de Goiás 1830-1890

Abstract

The present work focuses on the theme: "The public chain of Vila Boa de Goiás from the years 1830 to 1890" was chosen for believing that justice must also be approached by historiography. In this way, this research tries to smash the history of punishment, as it seeks to portray what was experienced by the Goias during the imperial period. Thus, it is evident that it has the objective of providing the reader with the opportunity to get to know the history of Goiás a little better, for such a feat, a search for new objects was required to give new questions to Goiás history, thus evidencing the inquiry the documentation relevant to the topic. With a scientific approach, the proposed theme is based on bibliographical and documentary research, the theoretical reference being the works of Michel Foucault (1987), Francisco Ubirajara Camargo Fadel (2012), Luiz Palacin (1981) etc., authors who sought to understand the punishment and its objectives and many others that are well understood on the subject and that much contributed to the conclusion of this work. The research in question is divided into three chapters where everyone tries to demonstrate the history of this establishment of Law and the applications of penalties before and after the foundation of the Public Chain of the old capital.
