A Concepção Política de Frei Betto a Partir da Obra Batismo de Sangue

Abstract

This work has as its research source the work Baptism of Blood (1982) by Carlos Alberto Libânio, we will seek to reflect on the concept of intellectuality and political engagement, since Frei Betto, a religious member of the Catholic Church, is dedicated to intellectual work . The research also shows how Frei Betto chose to engage in the student movement, and the development of his activism during the resistance to the dictatorship, around 1968, considering that he belonged to the Dominican order and was a political activist during the military dictatorship in Brazil. This work analyzes Frei Betto's political conception from the work Baptism of Blood, we will also see what this relationship between politics and religion is like according to Frei Betto.
