A INCLUSÃO EDUCACIONAL DE DISCENTES COM O TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA-(TEA) NO ENSINO SUPERIOR

Abstract

This article aims to understand the educational inclusion in higher education of students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The text discusses the importance of this educational inclusion, the concepts and characteristics of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder, as well as the inclusion of students with this neurodevelopmental disorder in higher education. The study is characterized from a qualitative approach with the following methodological procedures used: bibliographical and documentary research, so that there was a greater significant deepening and understanding of the proposed theme. To support this research, theoretical reference was made from authors such as: The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5, 2014); Brazil (2012); Baptist; Mantoan (2006) and among others. The results point out that the Autism Spectrum Disorder is a pathology with a high incidence in the human population, in which it has, as symptoms, weak social interaction, lack of verbal and non-verbal communication, a restricted field of interest, these being the main expressions, but factors that do not prevent the carrier from entering higher education, for this it is necessary to have educational inclusion actions focused on the characteristics of autistic people, applied by the faculty, allowing the development of student knowledge.
