RACISMO NO BRASIL: REFLEXOS NA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze racism in Brazil and its effects on Early Childhood Education. The text discusses the theme is an issue present in several countries, including Brazil, which is a structural problem and rooted in Brazilian society since the time of colonization. The historical remnants of the enslavement of blacks in the country still reflect in our society in the form of inequality, which affects various aspects of everyday life, in schools, and even in Early Childhood Education. The study is characterized from a qualitative approach with the following methodological procedures used: bibliographic research, so that there was a greater significant deepening and understanding of the proposed theme. To substantiate this research, theoretical references of authors were used, such as: Cavalleiro (2004); Guimaraes (2002); Gomes (2005) among others. The results show us that in education, racism is reflected in various forms of exclusion and prejudice, and that the school is a place where it can be perpetuated or fought, depending on the attitudes and policies adopted. Thus, anti-racist practices in early childhood education are extremely important to build a fairer and more egalitarian Society.
