O QUE É QUE O BAIANO TEM? O ROMANCE TORTO ARADO DE ITAMAR VIEIRA JÚNIOR COMO FENÔMENO APRECIADO PELO PÚBLICO E PELA CRÍTICA

Abstract

This article aims to understand how the novel Torto Arado by Itamar Vieira Júnior emerges as a literary phenomenon appreciated by the public and critics. The Brazilian literature represented by this work is contemporary at the same time that it traces a historical trajectory from an enslaved people to the present day. As a theoretical basis to understand and analyze the work studied, the following were used: Anjos (2021); Meneghetti and Kuhne (2022); Pimentel (2022), and; Rezende (2022). The study of the book leads us to understand the relevance of the theme addressed and the quality of its writing. The analysis in the book also takes us to the professional and academic trajectory of the author and his relationship with the theme of the book. Furthermore, the book is the expression of a people and their struggle for land.
