O uso das representações gráficas nas aulas de geografia: percepções sobre o lugar no Colégio Estadual Ana Maria Torres em Novo Planalto-GO

Abstract

This research deals with the use of graphic representations in Geography classes at Colégio Estadual Ana Maria Torres (CEAMT). Its main objective was to analyze the use of graphic representations in Geography classes in the 6th year of Elementary School II, at Colégio Estadual Ana Maria Torres. The specific objectives are to reflect on graphic representations in elementary school in Geography classes, to develop a methodological proposal for the applicability of graphic representations in the 6th grade in elementary school II in CEAMT; and to verify the learning index of students in the 6th grade in elementary school II at Colégio Campo. The research method was constituted in phenomenology, with the use of methodological procedures based on bibliographic research, action research and elaboration of a methodological proposal on the use of graphic representations in Geography classes with emphasis on the geographical category Place in the city of Novo Planalto-GO, which had the support of the method of Graphic Semiology of Betin (2000) and the methodology of Drawing to the Map of Almeida (2010). In the analysis of the results, it can be said that the students have an intermediate knowledge about the graphic representations and the reading of the maps. It is concluded that the methodological proposal contributed significantly to the students' understanding of the graphic representations and the reading of the maps.
