Museu Casa da Cultura : lugar de memória e espaço de ações educativas em Itaberaí-GO (1993 – 2019)

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Casa da Cultura Museum of Itaberaí-Go, as a place of memory and space for educational actions. The museum under study, created in 1993 and located in the former residence of Colonel João Elias da Silva Caldas, exhibits more than a range of objects, but the biographical memory of life itaberina in the colonel's quarters. It is a permitted remembrance due to the assets materials and immaterials that make up the collection, standing out as a “place of memory‖. The research is developed methodologically through the analysis of oral, iconographic and written sources, discussing them critically. Therefore, we aim analyze the way in which biographical memory is constituted as a device patrimonial in the Casa De Cultura Museum and in the CEL artifacts. John Elias of Silva Caldas. To do this, we present a brief history of the Curralinho route to Itaberaí, where Cel. João Caldas developed significant relevance for the economic and social growth. Such importance resulted in the patrimonialization of his residence as a museum, as a way of immortalizing the memories of the time. Not only material goods, but those considered immaterial, characterized by customs, traditions that the institution reframes every year. This interaction promoted with the Itaberian community develops through educational actions with the holding of events, festivities religious beliefs and openness to the community, especially schools. This process contributes so that the community as a whole realizes that their daily lives, as well as themselves, themselves are the fruits of a historicity that influences their reality constantly. As the research developed, we realized that the museum studied is of a biographical nature, in addition to presenting assumptions that the characterized as a house museum, being also a motivator for memories of the Itaberina community are not forgotten, but immortalized by the collection and the memories told inherent to the objects on display.
