SÍNDROME DE BURNOUT: um problema do século XXI em professores

Abstract

The capitalist system has brought many changes to people's lives and daily lives, affecting forms of consumption, as well as productive systems and labor relations. The school and therefore the teacher also suffered the reflexes of this change, because, the intensification of the collections on the educational institutions, on the formation of the teachers with more and more intense hourly loads, having to live with the disinterest of the students, the increase violence, family neglect, and other issues. Faced with these questions, there was a curiosity to understand the impact of these changes on the life and work of the teacher that often leads to a syndrome known as Burnout and that involves the stress generated by the work environment and the elements in it. It aims at this way, as the Burnout impacts and generates consequences in the life and in the action of the teacher within the classroom. For the development of the research, a bibliographical review was conducted highlighting authors such as Ferreira (2010), Cabral (2004), Carlotto (2002), among other authors who have already discussed Burnout and its impacts on the life of the teacher. Subsequently, a case study was made with a Pires do Rio Higher Education teacher (GO) who was burnout. Among the main results observed, it is possible to mention that Burnout is a reality present in the lives of many teachers, especially due to excessive collections, long working hours and a lack of infrastructure. Therefore, these professionals need to seek support in their families, health professionals and institutions working to overcome this problem and continue to develop their profession.
