Abstract

This descriptive, bibliographical and field research has the purpose of conducting a study on Democratic Management in the public school. It is presented with the objective of investigating how Democratic Management occurs in the municipal teaching institution X, located in the municipality of Luziânia-Go, and how does the participation of the school community in the elaboration and execution of the Political-Pedagogical Project, School Council , The Class Council and the choice of the Didactic Book, identifying and reporting on the difficulties presented by the various segments of the school community and the challenges that managers face in conducting the construction of a Democratic Management in the Municipal School X. The methodological procedures used to the collection of data were: semi-structured interviews with school teachers, and with the servers and students. The research was developed at Escola Municipal X, located in the rural region of Luziânia, Goiás. As main results, teachers can feel that they are able to participate in the elaboration of the PPP, school and class council, as well as in the choice of the book but lacking more information and communication from the management team, as the servers and local community little know about the importance of their participation. As for the students has little knowledge about what comes to be democratic management. Finally it was possible to realize that the construction of a decentralized management to put together work and break paradigms of the various school segments and that everyone should be aware of the importance of their contribution in the opportunities that call for the work of all. And that a pedagogical political project must be thought, discussed and formulated collectively, also as a way of constructing the autonomy of the school, through which the team is involved in the decision-making processes on aspects of school and pedagogical-curricular organization. Just as the school council must be expanded the size of its deliberative and advisory importance, that each subject of the school unit must be aware of its role as a participant of a council as to its responsibilities for a management, but transparent and open to dialogue. The class council should be open to all school community and the choice of textbook is a triennial sentence of joint, participatory responsibility aimed at improving teaching learning of the educational institution.
