A deficiência visual e os desafios no ensino superior em educação física: um estudo de caso

Abstract

This research presents a study on a visually impaired student at the State University of Goiás UEG, Eseffego campus, graduate in Physical Education. Bringing with it the perception of a colleague who followed closely his academic background. To do so, we use the qualitative method with data collection, through bibliographic research and an interview with the subject of the research telling his story and his trajectory throughout the course, with the objetive of identifying and understanding the difficulties experienced by the visually impaired person in the undergraduate course. After collecting the data, it was possible to identify the obstacles described by him in relation to the university, such as the structure, the available materials, the relationship between teachers and students. After carrying out the research, the results obtained clearly demonstrate that there are still difficulties in relation to the formation of teachers with visual impairment in the university, for the simple fact that they are not fully prepared for the inclusion of these students, due to the lack of preparation of the faculty and not adequate structure to receive them. In order to achieve the objetives that were proposed with the research, three chapters were addressed in addition to the introduction and interview with the researcher: Chapter I dealing with the historical aspects of the person with disabilities, Chapter II dealing with the history of Physical Education and teacher training, Chapter III dealing with the training of the teacher with Visual Disability bringing an interview with the student being studied and the final considerations of the research.
